Xippas Punta del Este

After settling successfully at downtown Montevideo (Ciudad Vieja) and following the trend of its galleries in Paris, Athens and Geneva, “Xippas Contemporary Art” builds up its presence in Uruguay by opening a new gallery at Punta del Este, the country’s touristic and cultural Mecca.

“Xippas Contemporary Art” establishes its new gallery within the prestigious “Yoo” Building (Roosevelt Avenue and Oslo – Parada 8 ) inspired by Philippe Starck, combining first class art and design. The facility consists of an exhibition space on the tower´s ground floor, fully visible from the outside, and an intimate showroom for press and private art collectors.

The new project seeks to integrate the international contemporary art landmarks with the edgiest regional scene. In line with the proposal, the opening celebration will consist of a group show combining the gallery’s most emblematic artists like Vik Muniz, Peter Halley, Vera Lutter, André Butzer, DanWalsh, Philippe Ramette, Janaina Tschäpe, Cao Guimaraes, Marco Maggi amongst other gallery´s leading artists of the international scene.
