Lives and works in Mexico City, Mexico
I predominantly work with the mediums of collage, installation and video; appropriating found fragments and grouping them into small archives I later use to construct new, unresolved narratives.
I am interested in iconography and semiology, as well as the process behind the renewal and disruption of meaning. As such, I am interested in Benjamin Buchloh’s ‘allegorical procedures’; strategies of “appropriation and depletion of meaning, fragmentation and dialectical juxtapositions of fragments and separation of signifier and signified”. Yet I am not only concerned with destabilizing signs, I want to redefine them; explore their subversive and poetic possibilities.
