Taking place at the Miami Beach Convention Center from December 6 to December 9, 2012, the show, presented a geographically diverse selection of galleries from 31 countries across five continents.
Roughly 50 percent of the galleries come from the United States and Latin America. Exhibiting galleries include 14 from Brazil, 4 from Mexico, 3 from Argentina, 2 from Colombia, 1 from peru and 1 from Uruguay.
This year’s edition of Art Kabinett, a section of curated group shows and solo exhibitions, featured strong presentations by artists from Latin America. A Gentil Carioca showed work by Hélio Oiticica and Jarbas Lopes, creating relationships between two different generations of Brazilian artists. On display at Henrique Faria Fine Art a selection of work by Argentinean artist Osvaldo Romberg was displayed, including a reconstruction of the installation “The Hanover Color Constellation 82-83”. For Art Kabinett, Paul Kasmin Gallery presented a solo show by Chilean light installation artist Iván Navarro.
