Patricia Belli

Born in 1964 in Managua, Nicaragua
Lives and works in Managua, Nicaragua

Patricia Belli is a visual artist who uses a diversity of mediums, with an emphasis on the crossing between the mechanical and the artisanal. The medium are the vehicle for the construction of meanings about balance. In 1999 she was awarded by a Fulbright scholarship to pursue a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts at the San Francisco Art Institute, which she completed in 2001.

On her return to Nicaragua that same year, she founded the Space for Research and Artistic Reflection, EspIRA, an organization for the sensitive and intellectual training of artists. Previously she had obtained a degree in Arts and Letters from the UCA, in Managua, in 1997; and a BA in visual arts from Loyola University of the South in New Orleans in 1986.

Since 2000, Belli has been exhibiting regularly in Central America, South America, the United States and Europe. She has exhibited individually in the Gallery Kiosko, in Bolivia; The T20 Gallery in Murcia; The Americas Collection Gallery in Miami; The National Palace of Culture, and the Codex Gallery in Managua; TEOR / éTica, in San José; and at the San Francisco Art Institute. Her work has received numerous awards from the Ortiz Gurdián Foundation in Managua; and the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design of Costa Rica. P.B
