Guillermo “Habacuc” Vargas
Born in 1975 in San José, Costa Rica
His artistic practice has include drawing, public space interventions, installation, dance, theater and video. He has participated in individual exhibitions as: Red Carpet. 300kilos of tomatoes (2006), Exorcision, Jacob Karpio Gallery, San José, Costa Rica, (2002), Expocision # 1 Gallery Codice Managua Nicaragua (2002), Graffiti Gallery Culture (2001). His collective exhibitions include: New trends in Costa Rican art Waschington Dfmuseum of the IDB (2007), FIA, International Arts Festival; San José Costa Rica (2006), Painting Care or Pictorial Destruction, Museum of Contemporary Art and Design MACO, Mexico, D.F. (2005).
He has won awards such as: First Place Bienarte 2007, San José, Costa Rica, First Place Bienarte 2005, San José, Costa Rica. He was founder of the Culture Gallery, FECOU, in San José, Costa Rica and has worked in various musical, dance, theater and installation works.
