Lives and works in Bogotá, Colombia
I whole-heartedly believe in the creation of long term artistic projects that follow genuinely interesting thematic guidelines, without any predetermined or inscrutable style or format, and whose logic develops and unfolds itself little by little over time. Having said this, my most recent work has revolved around different forms of exploring personal and family memories, journeys, destiny, coincidences and creation, themes which I find exciting and which constantly interconnect. The most recurrent formats used in my projects are traditional two-dimensional media such as drawing and painting, which form the backbone of my work, but I’ve also drawn on creative writing, photography, archives, maps and many other resources originating from graphic art and design. I’m interested in spreading these ideas out on a wall or in a particular space, using cartographic or narrative techniques to help build stories or readings similar to those in a novel, a documentary or a fictional film in a more abstract form. Similarly, I try to carry out collaborative projects and create social spaces in which the most important thing is thinking and reflecting, not the usefulness of things or actions.
