Ana Holck
March 23rd – May 11th 2013
11 bis, Paris
It’s been more than ten years that Ana Holck questions the town planning in works of “concrete art” (or “neo-concrete art“), presented in the main cultural places in Brazil (such as the Museums of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo or the Museum of Contemporary Art of Niterói). For the first time, the artist, initially graduated in architecture, gathers twelve of hers most recent works in a personal exhibition in France, in the Galerie 11 Bis, till May 11th, 2013. Her series “Cruzamentos” consists of sculptures realized in assembled building materials (brass, Corten steel, cement). The second one, “Perimetrais“, includes drawings and engravings inspired by one of the most famous viaducts in the world which will be destroyed within the framework of the project “Porto Maravilha” (reorganization of the harbor area for the 2016’s Olympic Games): “Perimetral“, on the Guanabara bay, in Rio.
